Surah Al Maidah Ayat 73-74 Translation Tafseer

Para 6 - لَا یُحِبُّ اللّٰهُ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

5.73-74

لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِیْنَ قَالُـوْۤا اِنَّ اللّٰهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلٰثَةٍۘ-وَ مَا مِنْ اِلٰهٍ اِلَّاۤ اِلٰهٌ وَّاحِدٌؕ-وَ اِنْ لَّمْ یَنْتَهُوْا عَمَّا یَقُوْلُوْنَ لَیَمَسَّنَّ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِیْمٌ(73) اَفَلَا یَتُوْبُوْنَ اِلَى اللّٰهِ وَ یَسْتَغْفِرُوْنَهٗؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِیْمٌ(74)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

They disbelieve those who say: “Indeed Allah is the third of three ˹Gods,˺” and yet there is only one God worthy of worship. if they do not refrain from what they are saying, then most certainly those who remain disbelievers among them shall be afflicted with painful punishment.[1] So why do they not repent in the court of Allah and seek forgiveness from Him? And yet Allah is Most-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.

With the exception of the small Unitarian denomination, Christians believe in a trinity of deities consisting of God the Father, ʿĪsā the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Here, this belief is refuted, for there is none worthy of worship but Allah Almighty; He has no second nor third; He is One without an equal, and without a father, consort, or son. If the Christians remain adamant in their trinitarian beliefs and do not embrace true monotheism, they will face painful punishment in the Hereafter.
